Marlene Smyth
A native of Montreal, Marlene began painting as a child, complementing elementary school projects with paints and drawings. She studied fine arts at Dawson College and again at Loyola College, eventually refining her individual style through abstract and technique workshops.
Painting themes vary according to Marlene’s passions of life, travel, nature, ethnic origins, and fantasy. A lover of texture and bold colour, her paintings reflect an abstract reality created with the use of acrylics, ink, dye, and texture mediums, including the use of collage incorporated into many of her works.
Her paintings have thus far been exhibited locally at regional exhibitions.
